D. Bass was born in Jerusalem. From the very early age of 5 she started to experiment with painting. After graduating from the college for art teachers, she continued her studies by attending numerous classes at the Grande Chaumiere in Paris. For the majority of her life, Danushka has done conceptual art. However, in the last two years, she has started to specialize in flowers. She expertly pairs these floral bouquets in vases of antiquity with an oriental accent. Partially figurative and partially abstract, her pieces honor classic still life scenes but breathe a fresh contemporary feel into the viewer. There is a lot of mystery and unknown in her work. There is also a sense of spirituality in her work which leaves you with feelings of calmness and enigma. Her works are in private collections throughout the US and internationally.
